My friend, Beth Ann challenged me to the Five Photos: Five Stories challenge. If you missed Day 1, click HERE.
Day 2
In my old job, I frequently had to visit another store in Southern Iowa. I also got the privilege of staying overnight at the home of the owners elderly mother! I use the word elderly, but she’s one spry & awesome woman! One of her hobbies? Collecting stuff…lots of stuff…she had a large collection of what I call the Aunt Jemima lady dolls! She also had this by her back door!
The first time I saw it, I couldn’t believe it! One of my great grandmother’s had one very similarly! I had never seen one since hers (for awhile my brother had it in his possession after she died). Hers had blue pants, I believe and a red shirt. (I could be wrong…I was 7 when she died, it’s been a lot of years!) But, I always fondly remember that guy at her house and then in our house, I was obsessed with removing his pipe and sticking it back in the hole! When I saw this one, I couldn’t help but smile with wonderful memories!
